In-Store Recipe Samplings For Family Day On September 25

Having Dinner with Your Children Helps Prevent Substance Abuse

WHAT: The ShopRites of West Caldwell and Clark will be providing samplings of Chicken Cacciatora – its Family Day recipe to kick-off the Family Day national initiative of having dinner with your children.

In addition to the FREE samplings, customers visiting the stores will be able to purchase the prepared meal to take home, heat, and eat. FREE recipe cards for the Chicken Cacciatora dish will be distributed and a registered dietitian will be on hand at the ShopRite of Clark to answer any nutritional questions.

ShopRite is joining forces with The National Center of Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University to celebrate the sixth annual Family Day – A Day to Eat Dinner With Your Children. Family Day is a growing national effort to prevent substance abuse in kids and teens by encouraging parent-child communication through the simply act of having dinner together frequently. CASA’s research consistently shows that the more often children eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs
